Yesterday I drove on two wheels to the Funks at about 1:30, (with mom in the passenger side of course!) and found that someone had taken everything the Funks own, and dumped it outside their house! A sad looking Lydia was seated on a chair outside the house, looking as though someone had kicked her dog! "We are sanding the floors," she croaked pitifully. Sure enough when I went inside, I saw Thomas struggling to control a mighty beast, that was stripping their floors of varnish! We quickly rushed back outside.
As Esther sobbed into my shoulder, Jenny came out and ushered us onto our bikes and had us go swimming, to get her children's minds off of the unwashed masses (inside joke) in their house. When we got there, I, being the brave one, tried to comfort my friends, but they just stared ahead, shivering with fear, knowing that their house was in shambles. After awhile Christopher could stand it no longer, and climbed upon his shiny red stead and rushed home to help his father. The girls consoled themselves by buying an ice cream sandwich. After about two hours of swimming the girls slowly biked home, afraid of what they would find upon their arrival. They were all pleased to find that the monster had been controlled, and now the floors were being varnished. To escape the fumes, everyone but Thomas bounded up the stairs, to join Humphrey the Hamster.
After a couple hours Thomas had set up the ladder, and each person climbed out onto the roof, and down the ladder. Then we roared down the road to Menards, where we saw the Stadtmullers, and bought some more varnish. Then we played frisbee golf. My first throw I gracefully (ha!) tossed my frisbee, it glided through the air… and came to an abrupt halt when it slammed into Chris's arm. He fell to the ground as he passed out from the pain. After he came to we continued. After getting eaten alive by mosquitos, we went to Ryan's to dine. Lydia and I partook of slushys'!
Well that was my time with the Funks! Though rather exaggerated I must admit. :)
Oh wow Christina, talk about embelished!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah!! Ya gotta have some drama every now and again! :)
ReplyDeleteWere in the WORLD did you get that 'sobbing into shoulder' idea about me! But I must say, eating at Ryan's was tummy heaven!
